Devlog 2- Core Game Concept


The title of my game is called Residence of Evil. The genre is survival horror. The target age would be 18+. 

The character is Jill Valentine who is a special operation agent and high-ranking operator for S.T.A.R.S ( Special Tactics and Rescue Services) She is waking up from a nap because she hears a bunch of screaming coming from outside her apartment window and when she goes to look she starts seeing explosions and smoke from the distance but also people running away from zombies who are chasing them. When she tries to go and get her gun to go help, The Nemesis who is made from the T-Virus from the pharmaceutical company Umbrella, is made to target members from S.T.A.R.S and the main one he targets is Jill. Jill tries running away and is somewhat successful but she runs into Carlos Oliveira from the BSAA ( Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance) which is run by Umbrella, Jill knows that and is very hesitant to get help from them but does anyway. To help people escape Raccoon City they're putting people into trains but the trains are not working, so Jill is tasked to turn on the trains and do other stuff throughout the game while having Nemesis chase her throughout the game and trying to kill her. In the middle of the game, Jill is very injured and injected with some of the T-Virus after a boss fight with Nemesis. Carlos finds out and you control him and go find the doctor who has the cure but on the radio, he hears an announcement from the president that within 7 days they are going to nuke Raccoon city. So Carlos goes and helps Jill by injecting her with the cure. It takes a couple of days but Jill finally wakes up and is a lot better. At the end of the game, Raccoon city has a few hours before it gets nuked. Jill and Carlos try to get away in a helicopter but are stopped by one more boss fight with The Nemesis and after you defeat him, you barely escape Raccoon City with Carlos and you win the game. 

The game is gonna play like your other type of survival horror games. It has a third-person over-the-shoulder view and You're gonna have to find weapons and ammo throughout Raccoon City.  Throughout the game, it gets more challenging because the Zombies get stronger, and having Nemesis chase you throughout the game would have the player making decisions if they should fight and have nemesis catch up to them or run through the zombies and get to your objective.  Some cool features the game is gonna have is a dodge mechanic and if you can dodge at the right moment you'll get a slow-motion animation for a few seconds so you can either get a shot at the zombies or gives yourself a few extra seconds to run away. Another feature about the game is if you're able to knock down The Nemesis while he's chasing you, he'll drop a box with weapon attachments so you can upgrade your weapons.
